VEHICLE DONATIONS
How are vehicles handled?
All donated vehicles are handled for UCF
by Car Program, LLC, of Rancho Cordova,
California. They are registered and bonded
by the state of California.
Do you pick up vehicles
in my area?
We can pick up vehicles in all states
except Alaska and Hawaii. Someone in your
area will contact you to pick up your
vehicle?
How much can I deduct
from my tax return?
You should consult with your tax advisor.
Generally you may deduct the NADA Blue
Book value for tax purposes. Vehicles
valued over $5,000 must have an independent
appraisal which we will provide for you
at no cost.
Will I get a tax receipt?
Yes, the individual picking up your vehicle
will give you a letter from us verifying
your donation for tax purposes.
Who handles the title
and other paper work?
We handle all title and paper work for
you.
Do you accept vehicles
that aren't running?
Normally we accept all vehicles; however
there may be some exceptions. The operators
will advise you if the car can not be
accepted. Normally this is because the
vehicle will not sell for enough to cover
the towing and handling expenses.
Do you accept vehicles
with lost titles?
Yes, if you can provide some other proof
of ownership.
What does UCF do with
the funds received from donated vehicles?
Funds are used to fund international programs
and relief projects.
Do you accept boats,
trailers and recreational vehicles?
Yes, all vehicles, land and sea are accepted.
